I think... that art and science are connected. The principles and techniques of painting is 'science'. The magic of 'art' comes from discovering the subject and allowing the creative process to unfold, revealing my own interpretation. (Hopefully thru applying the 'science'.)

When I begin a painting, the starting point or even the concept often bears little resemblance to the finished work! I am frequently surprised by the result, wondering 'where did that come from?!' I have learned to trust that process. There are no mistakes — only unexpected paths that lead to new discoveries.  My background, worked at Eaton's Department stores from 1970 to 1992, in the Display Dept. REALTOR from 1992 to 2026.  Have taken many painting classes, and love the Art Culture offering enduring and new friendships!
